With football season around the corner, the Olympians have been working hard to try to be the best in our league.

However, even with all of their hard work, they still have a devastating record of 0-6 in pre-season and 0-1 season.

New head coach Christopher Long has his work cut out for him in order to turn this team around and start winning games. Even though many star players graduated last year, they are still left with returning quarterback Marcus Ruiz, running back Christian Cabral, Linebacker Christian Rodriguez, lineman Gustavo Ramirez and many more returners.

Unfortunately, the team has not started this preseason with the best of records. They haven’t won one game yet but they also haven’t gone down without a fight.

When asked about the subject, junior Christian Rodriguez replied with “So far we haven’t been winning any games, but each one of our games have been really close, we have gone down kicking and screaming. This just tells us that we need to practice harder so that when season actually starts we can start winning and take league champs.”

Former football player  Martin Quintero said “It’s not surprising that they have been losing so much since the new coaches came in so late. Hopefully when season starts they will start to do better.”

The new coaching staff joined the football program late and they started practicing much later than other schools which left the Olympians at a disadvantage. Moises Huacuja mentioned that “The team was left at a disadvantage when 20 football players quit the team that still come to this school. But I’m sure that they will still try their best.”
