With the season approaching fast these lady Olys are working hard to preparing for the long season ahead. The ladies are coached by head Coach Armas, Coach Pintor, and Coach Aaron.

Some girls’ ideas of how they should be coached differs from what they are being taught by Armas and Pintor and may cause problems as the season arrives. Some girls believe that Coach Armas is great at showing the girls how to work their stamina and helps when comes to running in soccer, but his intensions aren’t solely preparing the girls on the field.

Other girls believe that Coach Pintor only knows the basics of soccer and isn’t qualified to coach varsity, but is perfect for JV because of his understanding and patient nature.

The problems don’t solely lie in the coaching, but as well as the leadership positions. Leading the team as co-captains are Dejah Rangel (12), Ashley Luevanos (12), Esther Orozco (12), Alissa Castillo (11) all who are veteran soccer players, but to some degree some girls think that there are way too many captains that and several girls on the team don’t know who to listen to for guidance.

With all the problems it may seem that these lady Olys are having, they still focus on their main goal. CIF.

“I really believe we have a great team with some really great JV girls moving up to varsity,” said Alissa Castillo (11).
