In this past Christmas/winter Covina parade the marching band had placed 4th with a score of 83.80 against hundreds of other schools. They scored the same as last year slightly improving as a whole and being a better team.

Eduardo Monteon scored seventh place as Open Class Mace Drum Major with a score of 69. “I think the band has improved but there is still room for improvement. As for myself even though I scored lower and this was my first year as drum major I think I did pretty well and with practice I will be ready for the next parade and hopefully score better.”

Mr. Gutierrez, Band Director stated“We scored pretty well, the same as last year, I’m hoping in this next parade to place high and to not just to improve our score, but improve as a whole.”

The marching band’s next parade will be at Temple City on February 25th and the Laguna Beach Patriots Day parade on March 4th.

The band has been practicing to improve on their scores for their upcoming competitions by practicing Mondays and Wednesdays from five o’clock to seven thirty at night.

“We practice our songs for about an hour, just playing our music. Then we have a small break, Then for the rest of the time we are there we march and play our music practicing and perfecting everything.” stated Carla Segura.
