Say goodbye to tank tops, shorts, flip flops and it’s time to say hello to the newest fall trends!

1. The Feminine Blouse: A long sleeve, button down blouse in neutral colors is a good item to have because it pretty much goes with anything.  You can dress the blouse up with accessories making it even trendier with a jeweled necklace or bracelet.  To make it casual, pair it with jeans. 2. Neutral Long Cardigan: Living in Southern California means that there’s probably no need to wear a thick winter coat.  A good option to keep warm is a cardigan.  Try looking for this layering essential in neutral colors. [Fine Knit Cardigan, $24.95, H & M]
3. Maxi Skirt: This next one trend is actually one of my favorites! Either long and loose or long and tight-fitting, pair this long flowing skirt with a belted t-shirt or boots and tights. [Jersey Maxi Skirt, $29.95, Old Navy]
4. Polka Dots: When we say polka dots, some people think of Minnie Mous,e but this fall it is one of the most popular patterns to wear.  Whether on a shirt, skirt or dress, polka dots are always fun.  “I like polka dots because they are random,” said senior, Brittany Young who purchased her favorite fall pattern at Forever 21.
5. Thin Belt: An accessory that is very versatile is a thin belt.   A belt can add a little something extra to an outfit. They come in a variety of colors, bright or neutral.  [Merona Green Skinny Belt, $10.38, Target]
6. Over sized or Infinity Scarf: One of my favorite fall accessories is a scarf.  Both oversized and infinity scarves are perfect for the season.  They go well with other fall items like a cardigan or sweater coat. 7. Black Tight: Black tights can be worn with just about anything.  They can be worn with a dress, skirt, coat, or paired with boots.  Although they come in different colors and prints, black tights are the most popular. [DKNY Semi-Sheer Tights, $14.50, Nordstrom]
8. Stripes: Stripes are another fun pattern. The classy pattern can be on shirts, skirts, dresses, and jackets. One student, Senior, Genesis Perez said “I like stripes because they are unique and come in different colors.” Her favorite place to shop for this print is Forever 21. 9. Sweater Coat: A trendy way to stay warm during the cold weather is a sweater coat.  They can be worn with jeans or leggings paired with boots.  This type of sweater is a must have in your fall wardrobe. [Button cardigan, $34.99, Royal Robbins]
