Bassett Students Bound for Higher Education
February 18, 2015
Colleges are waiting; Bassett is taking you on a two day/ one night adventure to visit six of them. For $249 you get to travel to these colleges to learn first-hand how these schools work and what campus life is like.
You get to find out if UCLA is going to be your future dream school or an academic prison. The tour is hosted by Biology and Avid teacher Mrs. Steward. In this college tour you will visit Loyola Marymount, UCLA, CSU Dominguez Hills, San Diego State University, University of San Diego, and CSU San Marcos.
The $249 trip is on May 20th through May 21st, this price applies as long as 50 students attend. The money being paid covers everything from a Coach bus transportation to the overnight stay in San Diego. All meals are paid and the cost of chaperones is also included.
“We’ve had a trip like this one before; they show students what different colleges are like. Sometimes they even alter what schools they plan on attending in the future,” Says Mrs. Steward. An itinerary of the entire trip along with other information is available in her classroom (408).
The $249 payment is split to a $75 dollar deposit which secures your spot to the trip and the rest of the money to be made in monthly payments. With the $249 you are not required to pay for anything else, everything is included. It is recommended to bring some money to pay for any extra food you might want or souvenirs from the colleges.
Another opportunity for this type of trip is unlikely to appear again so make sure that you discuss it with your parents.
