Girls Kick it Up a Notch

The girl’s varsity soccer team have played three conference games this season. The season for the girl’s varsity team looks promising over all with an overall score of 3-3-1.

“I think this season we have a great chance at winning league champs and going to CIF, all of our girls have been working really hard and winning games. Even JV has been giving it their best.” Ashley Luevanos (12) team captain.

The first conference game they had against Garey high they tied but the girls came back better from last year from a loss of 0-1 and tied the game up.

The girls second conference game against our rivals the La Puente warriors the girls killed it once again with a victory as always with a score of 3-0 compared to last year’s win against the warriors with a score of 3-1 they came back strong to take a flawless victory.

One of the most recent game for the girls when they faced Edgewood high they took another win with a score of 2-1 scored by star player Ashley Luevanos (12) who scored both goals with the help of her teammates and receiving player of the game.

Unfortunately, the girls took a loss against Ganesha with a score of 2-0. “We lost because our forwards had many chances to score, but couldn’t place the ball in the net. This also lead to blaming each other on the team’s mistakes.”-Anonymous
