“IT” is the feature film adaptation of Stephen King’s famous book. We already had a 1990s miniseries of It starring Tim Curry based off  the book, and IT      (Pennywise) awakens every 27 years. Now IT is back and hitting the theaters in 2017, 27 years later.
This horror film came out on September 8, 2017. It begins with young Georgie (Jack Robert Scott) wearing a yellow raincoat and playing with his boat on the side of the streets, during the heavy rain. He chases it side to side until the boat gets sucked into the sewer. At that point, Georgie meets Pennywise the Dancing Clown (Bill Skarsgard) and IT pulls young Georgie into the sewer. Young Georgie goes missing from there.
All of the young actors did a fantastic job in this movie. They played an excellent role to contribute to the success of the movie. Especially Jaeden Lieberher as Bill, he was amazing as the character he played. I was amazed by his acting skills. His acting is perfect when he’s angry, and he could even make the audience feel that energy.
Pennywise (Bill Skarsgard) was also great. He was a straight-up creep. I really liked the effect they did to his eyes, where they would glow depending on the situation. Another thing I noticed from the movie is while he’s talking to Georgie in the sewer, his left eye was looking at the audiences and the other looking at the character, you will see it when you watch the movie. You’ll end up having goosebumps.
I was impressed that the movie wasn’t shy with  the violence towards kids. There were a couple of scenes from this movie that will make you go “Oh, they showed that.”
“It had me emotional, not just sad, but angry, hyped, laughing, and at the edge of my seat. It gave me emotional attachment to each of the characters.” – Danny Porcayo (11)
This movie carefully fleshed out the plots from the novel. The bullying they endure, and the friendship they make that helps them survive from their own fear and the clown.
Overall, the movie is horrifying to watch alone. Andres Muschietti (Director of IT) has made one of the best horror movies of the year. I would recommend watching it. I will give this movie a 9/10.  It’s worth your time.
