High school can be tough , But you know what’s even tougher? Being pregnant in high school. High school is hard enough as it is and not to mention incredibly judgmental. It’s brutal you feel alone and scared.
So, put yourself in the shoes of the teen moms you so quickly judge when you see them walk down the halls or unexpectedly bump into them you don’t know what they’re going through or how worried and devastated they must be knowing that they have a child or going to have a child.
The second hardest thing about being pregnant in high school would have to be your financial status. Let’s be honest you’re still trying to figure out who you are and you’re just a young kid who’s broke still trying to figure out what you want to do with your life, let alone trying to figure out how to support your child.
Babies cost a lot of money. First it all starts with pregnancy tests which are already like $15 dollars for an accurate result. Then you need to have the ultrasound that determines the sex and health of the baby which is about $200.
Then there’s the prenatal care and childbirth which is about $15,000 depending on insurance and complications. If you add it all up it would be a good $30,000 that could pay a whole year of college so teens are looking to pay a heavy price tag for pregnancy.
