The high school senior prom is fondly remembered in many people’s hearts, where memories of high school sweethearts, coming-of-age, and slow dances are cast in gold to be recalled upon for years to come.
The Red Carpet Gala, presented by ASB’s Class of 2019, will be held at the exclusive MGM Banquet Hall in Glendale, from 8:00 in the evening to 12:00 midnight. Among the things to look forward to is an all-inclusive buffet, a photobooth for the night, and a DJ. The MGM Banquet Hall will be providing a dinner of fettuccine alfredo, babyback ribs with potatoes, ceviche, or wings, over 10 appetizers, and a fruit dessert, included with the purchase of a prom ticket.
The theme is a throwback to Hollywood, the days of economic prosperity, movie stars, flappers, and flashy fashion. Dazzling dresses and dapper tuxes are to be expected to fit the red carpet theme.
“I’m trying to have a good time with my friends and get lit,” says senior Anthony Nava, explaining his plans for the big night.
Per tradition, the junior ASB class will be hosting the prom for the seniors. They are assigned to different jobs to make the prom a great experience, from positions in charge of designing the tickets, to the ones perfecting the centerpieces.
“The Class of 2018 shouldn’t miss out on having a good time with their class for the last time. It’s going to be something unforgettable,” promises Mabel Munoz, junior and coordinator of the prom.
Even with prom right around the corner, some students have not yet decided what they’re going to wear for the big day. “It’s taken me since the beginning of the school year to decide what I’m going to wear, and I still haven’t decided!” explains Joanna Ceja-Perez, senior.
If fashion inspiration is what undecided seniors were waiting for, the Class of 2019 hosted a fashion show to showcase prom dresses in vogue for the ladies and crowd-pleasing suits and tuxedos for the gentlemen.
Any further considerations for a tuxedo should be directed to Friar’s Tux Shop in West Covina. Ladies will have luck finding dresses by ordering through Esme’s Essentials, also in West Covina,.
Friar’s Tux Shop and Esme’s Essentials are sponsors of the fashion show and provide both discounts for students and incentives to the school for students who purchase with these shops.
