After a year of theories and debating how the Russo Brothers were going to follow up Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame was finally released. Fans have been anxiously waiting to experience the conclusion of the Infinity Saga in theaters.

Avengers: Infinity War was a heartbreaking movie that left fans with tons of questions, such as “How will the Avengers bring the others back?” and “Why is Iron Man so important?” With Infinity War recieving an 85% on Rotten Tomatoes, and gaining over 640 million dollars upon opening weekend, Endgame had a lot to live up to.

Fans have speculated many theories for this movie, some extremely bizarre such as “Thanus,” but others that were well thought out and detailed. The amount of hype for this movie was through the roof, as we were all left wondering what would happen next.

Endgame unsurprisingly received a 96% on Rotten Tomatoes and absolutely shattered box office records, making 1.2 billion dollars worldwide on opening weekend. Some critics complained on the three hour screen time of the movie but most believe the movie was well thought out and fulfilled the screentime with nearly no wasted scenes. The movie is filled with laughter, heartbreaking moments, and MANY old Marvel movie references.

“This movie does such a good job at explaining some things that non-MCU fans might not understand, while also throwing in bits of homages and dedicated fans that have been waiting years for this movie to come out,” said Eliana Torres (12).

Some of the pop culture references in the movie are funny now, but in the future will seem like wasted potential and could have been filled with other scenes that everyone will understand. Although these scenes were funny, they will not age well and the movie could have gone without them.

Endgame is a movie made with many different fans in mind. This movie is enough for casual movie watchers to enjoy, but also rewards more hardcore movie fans by implementing references to old Marvel movies, and ending to the Infinity Saga with a conclusion that is heartbreaking, but also very fitting.

“Avengers: Endame was a beautifully filmed, eye-popping, pulse-pounding superhero adventure, full of many emotional punches. If you didn’t cry multiple times while watching this movie, then you might actually be dead,” said Jerry Estrada (12).

Avengers: Endgame fulfills many unanswered questions left in the MCU, but also leaves fans putting other questions up for interpretation. The storyline for Endgame is fairly complex, but is also relatively easy to follow. Although Endgame introduced some confusing aspects, the story is well thought out and concludes with an ending that will leave fans satisfied, heartbroken, and wanting more. In a way, every character gets their happy ending, while also giving the fans one final goodbye to all the characters they grew to love as the series finally comes to an end.
