Bassett’s senior night happened on Friday. It was a celebration of Bassett’s graduating class of 2020. Football, Cheer, and Marching Band all gave farewell wishes to their seniors. Unfortunately, Senior Night didn’t end with a win. The energy was there as the student section but at the end of the game, the Olympians fell short.

Another storyline that occurred on Senior Night was the game itself. Friday’s game marks the last game between the Olympians and the Red Devils as Miramonte League opponents, as Pomona is getting promoted in the CIF leagues. Unfortunately, the last outing between these two Miramonte leagues teams did not go in Bassett’s favor, as the final score of 37-18. The Bassett Olympians put up 18 points against a particularly tough Pomona defense. Scoreless throughout the first half, Bassett put up 18 unanswered throughout the second half.

Overall, this football team saw an increase in their win total in terms of the Miramonte League. They went from 1-3 in 2018 to 2-2 in 2019 which is a one game increase. As the season ends, the football team looks forward to the 2020 season with hope of greater success.
